Gmod is dead

The number of players has seriously decreased, what do you think?

I guess sbox is coming out

sbox will never be close to gmod imo.

Eh, it's not really dead it's just flooded. it's always averaged around 25-30k people Since 2014. but the servers have gotten stale, to many rules, to many people not playing in the servers properly, that or im just getting old.

S&box isnt even a game, and facepunch has confirmed that. its a game engine for you to make a game in. So with that yeah it wont reach gmod level unless someone puts alot of time into it

There was a point in time about 4-5 years ago where I was doing gmod full time and Facepunch announced s&box was being developed and I had some serious anxiety about what that meant for me, my team and our future. If only I knew then how underwhelming it would end up becoming.

Pretty much same, the server i was running at the time and the devs i had we were all excited about it, and i got into one of the early dev build when they started letting devs into s&box and it was very disappointing at the time, i believe now that its come along way and it has a place but i don't think it will ever be another gmod.

I do how ever think that it will eventually take over the RP scene gmod and fivem combined. but its going to be a while. since development has to be in C# which seems to be a unpopular language in the fivem community.

I genuinely wholeheartedly believe that Facepunch genuinely doesn't care about their community, the people that built their empire, the people that made their company what it is.

The absolute crippling fear that Garry's Mod will somehow overtake S&Box if a single new community requested feature is added is absolutely detrimental to the community and is disgraceful.

I miss being proud of this game and its community...
