Guidelines

Reviews help developers out immensely, because it helps tell other potential customers how the script works.

However, reviews have a couple of rules to follow:

  • Reviews must be posted in English.
  • Reviews cannot be false or misleading.
  • Reviews must be relevant to the addon and its experience.
  • Reviews must be accurate when they were posted, but do not need to be updated in the future.

Good Reviews

  1. Contains detail about the product. What did you like? What didn't you like? This lets other members paint a better picture of the product itself.
  2. The product has actually been tested and used.
  3. The customer has contacted support, and waited an appropriate amount of time for a response (usually over 24-48 hours) prior to commenting about the quality of support in the review.
  4. Have made an attempt to reach the developer for support / questions prior to posting.
  5. The review is an honest unbiased / impartial opinion of the product, regardless of relationship to the developer or whether or not you paid for the product -- or received it for free.

Bad Reviews

  1. Contain rude or degrading remarks. Keep it professional. You're not in 8th grade; so don't cuss every other word.
  2. Bad-mouthing a script just because you dislike / have issues with the developer.
  3. Blank reviews.
  4. Reviews that are simply because they are your best friend.
  5. Don't complain about the frequency of a developer updating a script, it is NOT required. Especially if a developer is updating the script too often. It is YOUR choice to update the script, and why even complain about that anyway? At least the developer is active.
  6. Comments about missing features should be within reason and within the scope of what other addons of this category should have; excluding tailoring a script around your personal needs, the feature(s) must be applicable to other customers.
  7. Cannot be complaints created by personal modifications to products.
  8. Cannot be made with the expectation of making rapid changes, increasing levels of support, or other hostage reviews.

If a developer believes that you are leaving rule breaking reviews, you might be reported and the review may be removed.

Repeated abuses of the review system or repeatedly breaching the rules could lead to your ability to leave reviews being removed; though it is important to remind everyone that all reviews (and as such determinations of relevance) are subjective in nature.
