I'm looking for someone with experience in making 3D2D UI that looks good, performs well, and has a lot of functionality.
I'd like to have the UI of sPrinter completely rewritten to help resolve a couple bugs and performance issues.
The main problem is the amount of 3D2Ds onscreen at once. I would like the rewrite to disable the UI of individual printers which are racked, and for the rack screen to include any functionality which the printer screens exclusively provide.
As the current implmententation uses 3D2D VGUI, bugs with the rendering of the menu can sometimes occur, making it completely unusable. To resolve this, I want the rewritten solution to be drawn immediately to the screen without using VGUI panels. This can be done using a library such as UI3D2D.
As the UI is being completely written, I want familiarity to be kept in mind. It should be an almost seamless transition for any existing player to use the printer with the reworked interface. Additionally, I would like to make it more visually appealing where possible, using a different colour scheme and adding more icons.
Furthermore, any UX improvements would be greatly beneficial. Hints should be provided for anything that may not be immediately clear to a player.
