Ballistic Shields 🛡️

Ballistic shields are protection devices deployed by police and military forces that are designed to stop or deflect bullets fired at their carrier. Despite this addon's name it contains two ballistic shields and one riot shield. Every shield's efficiency is dependant on the config settings. By default even the heavy shield might be vulnerable to high caliber weapons, but you can also make them completely bulletproof.

Deployable shield

• Can be either held or placed on the ground to protect their carrier.
• It drops physically, it can still fall over if hit by something heavy (like a vehicle)
• Isn't buggy. Can't be placed half in the wall. Despawns if the owner leaves the server.

Riot shield

• Can be used to attack.
• Great for melee combat. Even if someone manages to hit you, you'll only receive a % of the original damage (By default it's 60% melee damage reduction)
• Not as bulletproof as other shields. Even small calibers might be able to penetrate it. (Can be turned off in many ways dependant on the weapon mod you're using)

Heavy shield

• Can be used to breach doors. The breaching ability can only be used every X seconds. It actually blows up the door you choose. Both cooldown and door respawn time can be changed in the config.
• It's the biggest and most bulletproof shield.
• It also adds a slight protection from both explosive and melee damage.

All-in-one

• Every shield has the same second ability - toggling vision. Basicly it makes your shield transparent (Only you can see it) so it's easier to see what's going around, without losing the perception of your shield's position.
• If the "POLICE" text doesn't really fit your server you can always change it to something else thanks to the in-built texture support.
• Every shield has an interactive UI.
• Every shield has a spawn icon.

Issues regarding latest TFA version (4.7.5+) should be now fixed. Download the 1.1.22+ version of Ballistic Shields.

If you're experiencing issues with TFA's weapons try using the 1.1.20 version instead of the latest one.

For this addon to work correctly you'll need workshop content.

If you want to use it with CW2.0 I suggest downloading this.

The heavy shield's breaching ability won't work on gamemodes that aren't related to DarkRP.

How do I create a custom texture for my shield?

Use the 256x256 template included in the script's archive. Edit it, and upload to any image hosting. Then, copy the link to the image and paste it in the config next to the shield you want to be edited.

How do I turn off TFA penetration?

It's built in now. No need to do anything. Riot shield can be unpenetrable by setting the bshields.config.rshieldbp to true.

How do I turn off CW2.0 penetration?

Simply add this to your server content. Riot shield can be unpenetrable by setting the bshields.config.rshieldbp to true.

How do I turn off M9K penetration?

Use this addon, or use the console command M9KDisablePenetration 1 to completely disable penetration.
