Cryptos (Trade Crypto, Real Data, MySQL Support, All Gamemodes & More)

Using the Coinbase API this addon is able to fetch cryptocurrencies and provide live data which allows you to trade cryptocurrencies on your Garry's Mod server. Furthermore the addon has support for a bunch of different gamemode currencies and pointshops that you can see in the list below.

📡 Real Data

• All cryptocurrency exchange rates are based on real life data from Coinbase.
• The data is fetched from the API every now and then based on your configuration and interval.
• Only the necessary data is networked to the client, so no big tables.
• By default I have configured 25 of the most popular cryptocurrencies for the addon.
• I've written an in-depth guide on how to add new cryptocurrencies in the knowledge base.

💱 Trading Crypto

• When buying crypto from the menu you trade the set currency (darkrp dollars by default) for the current price of the crypto.
• Your newly acquired crypto is then saved and added to your in-game crypto wallet.
• You can at any time sell the cryptocurrency again for the displayed price. You'll either gain profit or loose money depending on the prices.

🪙 Crypto Wallet

• Your crypto wallet or portfolio holds all your cryptocurrencies.
• You can view your total balance and how much you currently hold of each crypto on the server.
• Server owners can at any time add or remove new cryptocurrencies to the server.
• In the event that a cryptocurrency is removed, your wallet will still save the crypto if it should ever be added again, but you cannot trade it until it's added back.

✉️ Send Crypto

• The addon features an option to send any cryptocurrency to any online player.
• This allows for crypto transactions and paying for items with crypto.
• Through the portfolio tab you can select a currency and press send.
• This will bring you to a new tab where you can select an amount, view that amount in dollars (or other set currency) and send it to a selected player.

💾 Saving System

• The addon uses the file storage system by default.
• You can enable SQL if you want via the configuration.
• Using the AlexGrist wrapper there is support for MySQLOO.
• There's a knowledge base article to help you here.

⏲️ Transaction History

• If you have SQL enabled then players can view their buy/sell history.
• The transaction history is visible through the crypto menu in-game.
• It will show their last 10 (configurable) buy and sell transactions.
• It stores the date/time, buy/sell amount, buy/sell price and the cryptocurrency.

⚙️ Bitminers Integration

• The addon has direct integration with Bitminers.
• It will modify the way you withdraw bitcoins and instead put the mined cryptocurrency into your crypto wallet.
• It allows you to mine any cryptocurrency from this addon using the bitminer.
• It requires that you own both addons in order for the integration to work.

• This works with all gamemodes as long as you have one of the following currency systems available.

Extract ch_cryptocurrencies to your addons folder.

Please visit the Setup & Customizing tab to see how you setup the chat command, npc, exchange rate screens and generally configure the addon if you want to.

CONTENT

There's a single content pack that you must add to your servers workshop collection.

Workshop

To customize the general settings go to ch_cryptocurrencies/lua/ch_cryptocurrencies/shared/ch_cryptocurrencies_config.lua

You can change the language, general settings, enable SQL and more from the config file.

ADDING CRYPTOS

To add or edit cryptocurrencies go to ch_cryptocurrencies/lua/ch_cryptocurrencies/shared/ch_cryptocurrencies_config_cryptos.lua

It's as simple as copying/pasting the function and modifying the currency prefix, name and icon.

TRADE CURRENCY

As mentioned in the description you can trade cryptocurrency with any other currency you prefer. So DarkRP money, pointshop points, helix money and so on. There's a list of supported gamemodes/addons in the description tab.

Go to the default config file and modify the CH_CryptoCurrencies.Config.TradeCurrency config. You will find the list of supported currencies right above the config itself.

CRYPTO MENU/NPC

The crypto menu can be access via a chat command or NPC. It is entirely up to you. In the config you can enable/disable both as you wish and set a chat command to open with (if enabled).

You can set the position for the NPC with the console command ch_cryptocurrencies_setnpcpos

You can only have one crypto NPC and if you wish to reposition it then simply run the command again at another location.

EXCHANGE RATE SCREENS

You can setup exchange rate screens that will show 18 of your cryptocurrencies. Spawn them directly from the Q menu -> Entities -> Cryptos by Crap-Head and use the console command ch_cryptocurrencies_savescreens to save them. You can have as many as you like.

FETCHING API

The crypto prices are fetched via the Coinbase API and based on real data. This is done once the server starts and then continuously updates every now and then. This interval is configurable in the default config.

You can modify the interval with the CH_CryptoCurrencies.Config.FetchCryptosInterval config and decide if it should print to players or not with the CH_CryptoCurrencies.Config.NotifyPlayersChatFetch config.

If you find any problems with the script, please create a support ticket with details of the situation and a copypaste of the error in console. I am also not interested in modifying you a custom version of the addon. Also not upon payment. Sorry!

Conflicting addons is not to be said if I will support that or not. This is something I will decide upon confrontation about a conflicting addon. If you have some sort of proof that an addon is conflicting with my addon, please send me a PM with the details you might have.
