Server Printers - 6 Tiers, Hacking, Printer / Terminal Upgrades & More

I've played on a lot of DarkRP servers and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. My time was mostly spent making bases, raiding players, and printing money with their printers which I would steal (the usual gameplay of the average DarkRP player). But there'd always be this annoying 'exploit' where the players would then leave after 5 minutes, effectively de-spawning the printers I had stolen from them. This would result in rather passive servers because there was no point in raiding anymore, and eventually a dying player-base. (Some servers have enough events or other forms of RP, but they'd be twice as good if they'd integrate something that solves this, like this addon)

I noticed many people were complaining about this exact same issue, which is why I made this Printer System. This printer system solves all of the issues mentioned above, offers a considerable client side performance boost and unique extras. All packed into a slick looking model, made by @kkrraaken on Discord.

All 3 UI screens are drawn with ui3d2d, no VGUI elements. As a result, clients' frame-rates are significantly improved compared to other printer systems, with performance gains of up to 240%!

(tested against sPrinters and OnePrint on a local server. For more precise info, see the Comparison section below)

• Instantly transfer printers to your terminal (should you have one) by hacking them from other terminals
• Guaranteed to keep stolen printers for x amount of seconds
• Freedom to release stolen / hacked printers
• Configure a penalty for leaving whilst having printers stolen by making the timer go e.g., twice as slow when offline

• Level Up Time
• Configure how long it takes to gain 1 veterancy level
• Max Veterancy Level
• Configure the max veterancy level to keep your economy in check

• Left Monitor --Unclutter your main monitor using the left monitor!
• Monitor contains:
• More specific battery level
• Health indicator
• Amount of money produced per second
• Amount of active printers in the terminal
• Veterancy boost percentage
• Show any logo when turned off
• Properly moves items from main to left monitor

• Right Monitor --Unclutter your main monitor even further with the additional right monitor!
• Monitor Contains:
• Recharge terminal button
• Repair terminal button
• Terminal upgrades button + menu
• Terminal buddies button + menu
• Terminal lock button
• Terminal on/off button
• Show any logo when turned off
• Properly moves items from main to right monitor
• All of these buttons are accessible from the main monitor too, should the right one be turned off

• Anti Scripting
• Automated checks are performed on the server to mitigate the amount of scripters
• You can choose to disable this and you can choose what happens when a scripter is found
• This system takes into account that slow networks can also trigger certain 'impossible' events

• Very Configurable
• All of the features mentioned above are fully configurable and while most can be disabled, all can certainly be fine tuned

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X

GPU: GTX 1660 Super

RAM: 48GB, 2.667GHz

SSD: Idk the r/w speeds

All tests were performed in the same way, with the same background processes.

The in-game resolution was just standard 2560x1440, nothing fancy.

sPrinters vs Server Printers

(All entities were frozen in place, so the frames dropping is purely because of the UI and models)

Empty local server: 256 FPS

Empty local server with 3 full sPrinter racks: 53 FPS (average)

Empty local server with 3 full Printer Terminals: 193 FPS (average)

As you can see, Server Printers has exactly 244.64% more FPS, allowing for more content along with it

In an actual busy server, these frames would be even lower due to the amount of entities present

For Server Printers, this is not an issue. But with sPrinters, you could easily drop below 50FPS

I have dropped to below 40 FPS quite often in multiple DarkRP servers using sPrinters

OnePrint vs Server Printers

(All entities were frozen in place, so the frames dropping is purely because of the UI and models)

Empty local server: 256 FPS

Empty local server with 3 full OnePrint printers: 156 FPS (average)

Empty local server with 3 full Printer Terminals: 196 FPS (average)

As you can see, Server Printers has 25.64% more FPS

In an actual busy server, these frames too would be lower due to the amount of entities present

This is not an issue for either of these printers, but Server Printers does still have a ~25% FPS boost,

even while having 2 more monitors/3d2d instances per entity

Download the latest version of the addon, extract the zip file and put the folder in your server's addons folder

Always limit the amount of terminals per player to 1, or the addon won't function properly!
